UI Overhaul and Nudge Updates Project
At Great Manager Institute, I spearheaded a significant UI overhaul, focusing on integrating managerial actions with a unique coin reward system. This project prioritized a comprehensive update to the user interface, enhancing the user experience with practical, engaging features.
Nudge Feature: Guiding Managerial Actions
The cornerstone of this project was the development of the Nudge feature, which presents managers with a list of daily recommended actions categorized into three types: behavioral nudges, engagement nudges, and profile/feedback nudges. Completing these actions allows managers to earn coins and advance their app levels, creating a gamified, rewarding experience.
Behavioral Nudges
Purpose: To influence and improve managerial behavior through specific actions.
Examples: "Appreciate your team member" or "Recommend a book to your team member."
Engagement Nudges
Purpose: To encourage managers to actively interact with the application.
Examples: Prompts to use specific features within the app.
Profile/Feedback Nudges
Purpose: To encourage managers to complete their profiles and provide feedback.
Examples: Filling out profile details or submitting feedback
Design Implementation:
We created a series of dummy nudge card UI designs in Figma, featuring three nudge cards that display the manager's level, coins, streak, and score. Each nudge card is designed to prompt specific actions that managers can take to enhance their behavior and interaction with the app.
Engagement Nudge Side Panel Design
The engagement nudge required a unique side panel design that aligns with the existing design language of the nudge card side panels. For example, one type of engagement nudge involves incorporating a video with learning content. Managers watch the video, then complete a multiple-choice quiz. If the quiz is answered correctly, the nudge is marked as completed.
Key Features of the Engagement Nudge Side Panel:
Video Integration: Embedding learning content videos directly into the side panel.
Interactive Quiz: Presenting an MCQ after the video, with immediate feedback and completion tracking.
User-Friendly Design: Ensuring the interface is intuitive and visually consistent with the rest of the application.
Next Steps:
We are also developing UI screens related to Community and Learning Games, ensuring they adhere to our established design language. Mobile versions of all side panels will be created to provide a seamless experience across devices.
